Pediatric Defibrillation Electrodes

Protection for one of your most precious resources - Cardiac Science AEDs offer defibrillation capability for children and infants

Children are at risk of suffering from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) just like adults. The only known effective treatment for SCA is the delivery of a defibrillation shock to the heart. But even if there is a defibrillator available, if the victim is under 8 years of age or weighs less than 55 lbs, most defibrillators on the market are not designed to defibrillate such a small individual. In fact, the American Heart Association in their July 2003 Circulation: Journal of the American Heart Association stated that AEDs can now be used on children with no signs of circulation as young as 1 year of age. Now Cardiac Science brings you the latest advance to combat cardiac arrest in children. Designed for use with Cardiac Science AEDs, the pediatric electrodes provide reduced defibrillation energy for children and infants up to 8 years old or up to 55 lbs (25 kg). The pediatric electrodes are suitably sized for children’s smaller torsos - less than half the size of our adult AED electrodes. The pediatric electrodes complement Cardiac Science AEDs and provide a total AED solution, protecting infants, children, and adults.

Compact and lightweight, the new Cardiac Science AED Trainer incorporates the AEDs easy-to-use features to facilitate rapid rescue skill development and confidently assist victims of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).

Interactive Eight preprogrammed, simulated rescue scenarios correspond to American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines and the AHA Heartsaver AED curriculum. Instructor advances rescue stages and scenarios through an infrared, wireless remote control. Instructor may at any time pause and interrupt the rescue scenario for anecdotal comments or additional instruction. Students hear voice prompts that would typically occur during an actual rescue attempt. Economical Reusable training electrodes. Compatible with any type of CPR manikin. Powered by two alkaline D-cell (training device) and two AAA (remote control) batteries. Versatile      With the Cardiac Science AED Trainer, the instructor has the ability to: Change the rescue scenarios based on class needs. Vary simulated cardiac rhythms from shockable to non-shockable. Monitor the skills of the student while responding to a simulated rescue attempt.
