9 important issues you should cover before purchasing an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)!

1. At Circle of Life our National Account Master Distributor Pricing agreements with all major manufacturers gives us the ability to give you the lowest price possible. Buying direct from a manufacturer is a great deal for the manufacturer but never a great deal for the purchaser.

2. 80% of Sudden Cardiac Arrests happen at the home. Some AEDs offer little or no protection from water and adverse conditions. Be sure to purchase a unit that will cover any situation, not just the optimum situation. Don't be a victim of Murphy's Law.

3. One of our customers has a 13 year old boy with cardiac abnormalities. He carries an AED around in his backpack. Did you know that not all AEDs have the durability to withstand such abuse? Be careful when it comes to the ones you love.

4. Not all AED units provide comprehensive self checks assuring you the unit will be ready when you need it.

5. Not all AEDs have the artificial intelligence to create a tailored shock based on a person's body type. All people are created different. The energy required to shock a 250 pound male bodybuilder and a 90 pound female gymnast are different. Be sure to purchase a unit that will cover all body types.

6. Not all AED pads are created equal. Defibrillator pads have different shelf lives. How much time and money will you be spending on your AED replacement pads?

7. Not all AED batteries are the same. The batteries your unit will be utilizing are of huge importance and consideration.

8. Not all AED units can defibrillate children. Children up to the age of 8 or weighing less than 55 pounds need a unit designed specifically for pediatrics. Be sure to choose a unit that has the right combination of pediatric and adult capabilities.

9. Not all AED units can be programmed in languages other than English. If you are purchasing a unit for your home and your primary language is not English, this is an important issue. Many public and corporate venues have multi-lingual needs.

Here at Circle of Life, we understand that not all AEDs are created equal. Be sure you purchase the AED that is right for you. Our trained staff is available to guide you in the right direction, not just sell you any old thing. We do not employ a "take the money and run attitude."

We would appreciate the opportunity to help you with your purchase, a purchase that you will be living with for a very long time.
